Cadre restructuring committee for CSS constituted

New Delhi (27.10.2022): The Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) on Thursday constituted a committee for the fourth cadre restructuring of Central Secretariat Service (CSS). The committee will be headed by the Establishment Officers of DoPT. Joint Secretary (CS) of DoPT and Joint Secretary (Personnel), Department of Expenditure will be its members while Deputy Secretary (CS I) of DoPT as its Member Secretary.

The committee has been mandated to review the existing cadre structure and projection of the manpower (CSS) requirements for the next 10 years. The committee will also assess future career progression and suggest remedial measures; suggest measures to enhance effectiveness of the service and capacity building. It will also study the encadrements of posts of autonomous bodies and statutory organizations and relevance of recommendations of third CRC which are not implemented so far.

The committee is also mandated to review present training needs and suggestions of stakeholders and examine any other issue referred to it by Cadre Controlling Authority of CSS and Central Secretariat Clerical Services.
