Indianmandarins has learnt that former DoPT Secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma (Retd IAS:1981:BH) may be appointed as a Member of the Union Public Service Commission where a post may fall vacant when UPSC Chairman Prof David R Syiemlieh completes his term on 21 January 2018.
Sharma retired from the post of DoPT Secretary on 30 June 2017 and is seen among the officials in the queue for a post-retirement assignment.
The UPSC has a strength of nine including Chairman. Smita Nagaraj (IAS:1984:TN) took charge on 01st of this month as the ninth member of the Commission.
