Bihar: Govt enacts a major reshuffle of IPS officers

Patna (01.01.2023): The Bihar government has enacted a major reshuffle of IPS officers. They were transferred and assigned new postings. The list of officers goes like this:
  1. Alok Raj (IPS: 1989: BH), who recently lost the race for the post of director general of police (DGP) to the 1990-batch IPS officer RS Bhatti, has been made DG, Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB).
  2. Sunil Kumar Jha (IPS: 1993: BH) has been appointed as ADG (technical services and wireless).
  3. Preeta Verma (IPS: 1991: BH) has been appointed as DG (training).
  4. Sudhanshu Kumar (IPS: 1996: BH) has been appointed as ADG (traffic).
  5. M S Dhillon (IPS: 2009: BH) would continue to be the senior superintendent of police (SSP), Patna despite being promoted to the rank of DIG.
  6. Santosh Kumar (IPS: 2014: BH) has been sent to Special Task Force (training) as SP.
  7. Gaurav Mangla (IPS: 2013: BH) has been appointed as SP Saran.
  8. Ambrish Rahul (IPS: 2017: BH) has been appointed as SP Nawada.
  9. Amrit Raj (IPS: 1998: BH), Inspector general (IG), prohibition, has been promoted as ADG but will continue on the post, which has been upgraded.
  10. M R Nayak (IPS: 1998: BH) has been promoted as ADG and shifted to Bihar Special Auxiliary Police (BSAP).
  11. Kshatranil Singh (IPS: 2005: BH), who has been promoted to IG rank and appointed as IG (Magadh Range), Gaya.
  12. Jayant Kant (IPS: 2009: BH) has been promoted as DIG and has been posted with BSAP (central division).
  13. Rakesh Kumar (IPS: 2011: BH) has been appointed as SSP Muzaffarpur.
  14. Lalit Mohan Sharma has been promoted as SP and appointed as SP Kaimur.
  15. Harpreet Kaur (IPS: 2009: BH) has been promoted as DIG and shifted to special branch.
  16. Ashish Kumar Bharti (IPS: 2011: BH) has been appointed as SSP Gaya.
  17. Anand Kumar (IPS: 2012: BH) has been made new SSP of Bhagalpur.
  18. Swarn Prabhat (IPS: 2017: BH) has been made the new SP of Gopalganj.
  19. Kantesh Mishra (IPS: 2015: BH) has been appointed as SP East Champaran.
  20. Swapna Ji Meshram (IPS: 2011: BH) has been appointed as SP Aurangabad.
  21. Kumar Ashish (IPS: 2012: BH) has been made new SP (Rail) Muzaffarpur.
  22. Hridaykant (IPS: BH) has been shifted to BSAP-2 as Commandant.
  23. Binay Tiwari (IPS: 2015: BH) has been appointed as SP Samastipur.
  24. Sanjay Singh (IPS: 2012: BH) has been transferred as SP (ATS).
  25. Pramod Kumar Yadav (IPS: 2017: BH) has been appointed as SP Bhojpur.
  26. Neeraj Kumar Singh (IPS: 2012: BH) has been made AIG (Inspection).
  27. Manish Kumar (IPS: 2013: BH) has been appointed as SP Buxar.
