Sometimes incredible things keep happening in government and its organizations for years. Here is a special case. A Miniratna Central PSU comprising only two top authorities on the board is being run single-handedly as the CMD has sidelined the single Director on the board ever since the latter took charge in April 2013. It is considered a mystery as to how the CMD can keep his single Director without the job for which he is mandated. Reportedly, the Director is quite competent and he is mandated to handle all the projects on his own responsibility under the guidance of the CMD but he has left with almost no responsibility. Recently, a senior Govt of India official was heard saying that probably this was one of the biggest irony of the PSU affairs that the Single Director on the board would continue to remain sidelined till his retirement in 2018.
