Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the Appointment Committee of Cabinet rejected the panel for DG, Narcotics Control Bureau last week. The incumbent Special Secretary Internal Secretary (MHA), Ashok Prasad (IPS:1979:AP) will continue to hold the additional charge for another six months or till further order.
The panel comprising three names included Gopal Gupta (IPS:1983:UP) presently serving in the state in the rank of DG.
