The Department of Consumer Affairs, which acts also as the nodal department for implementation of the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950, is working on including the name of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's name in the list of names that cannot be used for the purpose of trade, business or patent without the Centre's permission. Once approved, Netaji's name and pictorial representation will be included in the list that already has Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Prime Minister.
