Speculations are rife that Prashant Sukul (IDAS) may be named as Director General of the Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA) - a post which is expected to fall vacant anytime now. Sukul has a wide experience in the civil aviation sector and he represented India in the ICAO, Montreal (Canada). The incumbent DG, Ms. A Sathiyawathy (IAS:1982:UT), has been in the queue for her turn for a secretary-level posting in Govt of India. Indianmandarins had reported earlier (Report dated; May 24, 2016) that B S Bhullar (IAS:1986:UP) was also among the prospective candidates who might be made DG, DGCA. Some insiders believe that Gargi Kaul (IA&AS), JS & FA, may also be in the race but it may not be set aside that DGCA is an additional secretary level post and Ms Kaul is currently serving in JS rank.
