The Election Commission on Wednesday announced the dates for assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, and Goa. Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi said that Uttar Pradesh will have a seven-phase election and Manipur will have a two-phase election. Counting for all states will be held on 11 March. The Punjab election will be notified on 11 January and voting will take place on 4 February. The Goa election will be notified on 11 January and the election will be held on 4 February. The Uttarakhand election will be notified on 20 January and voting will take place on 15 February. The first phase of Manipur election will be notified on 8 February with polling on 4 March and the second phase will be notified on 11 February with voting on 8 March.
