Gujarat's retired IPS officer DG Vanzara may contest the 2017 state assembly elections. Whether he will contest on a party ticket or as an independent candidate is not known. "People of Gujarat want me to contest the 2017 assembly polls. I will definitely fulfill their wish. Other details will be revealed at the right time," Vanzara said.
The former IPS officer is currently out on bail in a case framed by the UPA regime to trap and defame the then CM Narendra Modi. He has lived in his Gandhinagar house ever since he was allowed to return to Gujarat in April 2016 following modification in his bail condition. Ever since his return to Gujarat, Vanzara has been very active in public life. He has toured different parts of North Gujarat and Saurashtra and attended functions organized to felicitate him. Ever since he set foot in Gujarat, Vanzara has been giving indications that he would enter public life.
