The incumbent Chief Secretary to the Govt of Goa got extension for three months beyond June 30; the day he was scheduled to retire. The 1984 batch IAS officer Rajesh Kumar Srivastava will complete his extended tenure on September 30, 2016.
If some well placed sources are to be believed Sanjiv Nandan Sahay (IAS:1986:UT) was expected to be made successor to Srivastava. Reportedly, Sahai had expressed his unwillingness so that he could stay in Delhi and wait for his turn as Additional Secretary in Govt of India. Sahai, currently posted in Govt of NCT of Delhi, was empanelled as Additional Secretary in Govt of India on June 14.
