Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the centre has given its consent to Telangana Govt's proposal of another three-month extension to its outgoing first Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma (IAS:1982:TL). Reportedly, the Telangana Govt may issue the notification to this effect shortly. Sharma's extended tenure is coming to an end onAugust 31. The Govt, in the month of May , had recommended to the centre for a six-month extension but the centre had given concurrence only for three months beyond May 31. Sharma is set to become the third Chief Secretary to get a second extension in last six months. UP Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan (IAS:1978:UP) was given a second extension beyond March 31 whereas Rajasthan Chief Secretary C S Rajan (IAS:1978:RJ) was given a second extension on 27 March beyond March 31. Sharma was appointed first Chief Secretary of Telangana on June 01, 2014. After this extension, he would have a two years and three months long tenure as CS ending November 30, 2016.
