As Indianmandarins had reported first on January 01, 2018 Selection Committee headed by Chief Vigilance Commissioner K V Chowdary reportedly on Friday cleared the name of Seemanchal Das (IRS IT:1988) for the post of Principal Special Director in Enforcement Directorate. Das served as PS to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley until he was repatriated to his cadre (CBDT) in May 2017. Later he was appointed Director Investigation under CBDT in Delhi. It may be underlined that the post had been a bone of contention in the departments under Finance Ministry and hence many attempts were made to created a post between ED Chief and Special Director but there were surprises every time. Power corridors are still speculating whether Seemanchal Das was selected for the post on Friday or again its part of the trail.
