Chhatisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on Thursday started his one month long exercise (an annual campaign) the Lok Suraj Mission whose objective is to enable the State Administration understand the ground realities regarding the drinking water facilities, health, education, developmental works and issuance of caste and birth certificates and change policies as per the needs of the masses.
The Chief Minister said that he will visit Narayanpur, Dantewada and Bijapur districts as part of the mission and would hold detailed discussions with the three districts' top officers at Dantewada. He will hold review talks with people's representatives also. A blueprint will be prepared after having talks with the villagers for the next three years.
Targets will be fixed for each and every district. The Lok Suraj Mission will incorporate the suggestions of the villagers to make it more meaningful and useful at the ground level. It will expedite the implementation of various developmental programmes and make the district administration more accountable and active.
Chief Secretary Mr. Vivek Dhand and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Aman Kumar Singh also accompanied the Chief Minister on his visit to the most backward districts of the state.
The Lok Suraj campaign was launched on 27 April and will end on 24 May. Under the campaign, State Ministers, people's representatives, top officers and employees will tour the villages to understand the pulse of the masses and resolve their grievances.
