pesb-picked-sharma-for-cmd-post-in-hcl The public sector headhunter on May 29 selected Santosh Sharma (Director- Operations, HCL) for the post of CMD, Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL). As many as seven candidates were interviewed for the post namely; Anupam Anand (Director, Pers, HCL), Palash Goswami (Director- Finance, HPCL), Sanjay Kumar Bhattacharya (Director- Mining, HCL), Santosh Sharma (Director, Operations, HCL), Pradip Kumar Satpathy (Director, Production, NMDC), Moyukh Bhaduri (CMD, HSCL) and Atul Srivastava (ED, SAIL). It may be noted that Sharma, subject to requisite clearances, will succeed K D Diwan who will be retiring from CMD post on 31 August 2017. Incorporated in November 1967 HCL (under the administrative control of the Ministry of Mines) has the distinction of being the nation's only vertically integrated copper producing company as it manufactures copper right from the stage of mining to beneficiation, smelting, refining and casting of refined copper metal into downstream saleable products. The Company markets copper cathodes, copper wire bar, continuous cast copper rod and by-products, such as anode slime (containing gold, silver, etc.), copper sulphate and sulphuric acid. More than 90% of the sales revenue is from cathode and continuous cast copper rods.
