Nidhi Chhiber (1994 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre) is expected to succeed Upamanyu Chatterjee in the Ministry of Defence as Joint Secretary. Chatterjee had recently been appointed as Secretary (Joint Secretary rank post) Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).
