Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that the Union Minister for Heavy Industries has appointed AS&FA as Inquiry Officer (IO) and a PO to enquire into the disciplinary proceedings of long pending matter against Atul Saraya, CEO & MD of NTPC-BHEL Projects Pvt Ltd (NBPPL).
Reportedly, Dept of Heavy Industry (DHI) had recommended the removal of Saraya in March 2016 for willfully disobeying the orders of the administrative department (DHI) and living in Delhi instead of functioning from the headquarters at Mannavaram, drawing illegal TA/ DA and HRA and few other irregularities.
Following the recommendation, Saraya had submitted his resignation on 03rd of May 2016 on family grounds. Instead of accepting his resignation, the Govt had placed him under suspension in the month of August 2016. Saraya again submitted the resignation in October 2016 which is yet to be accepted.
It may be noted that after Saraya had retired from the post of Director (Power) BHEL, he was as MD & CEO of NTPC-BHEL Projects Pvt Ltd (NBPPL).
