New Delhi (31.07.2021): A senior police officer's love for relishing free biryani has landed her in trouble. An audio clip of the women IPS officer in Pune went viral. Maharashtra home minister Dilip Walse-Patil ordered a probe into the matter. This audio has not only gone viral but also raises serious questions over the mindset if proved true.

The women IPS officer of the deputy commissioner rank asked a subordinate which eatery in the Vishrambaug police station's jurisdiction sells good biryani. She instructed to get chicken and mutton biryani and other food items from a famous local eatery. The officer also asked "do we have to pay for these things in our jurisdiction?" and said, "You manage it or ask the beat cop to handle it... Do you want me to speak with him?"

The state home minister said he had asked the Pune police commissioner to conduct an inquiry into the matter and submit a report. However, the officer claimed that the audio clip had been doctored. She claims it to be a conspiracy against her. She claimed further that there were some police personnel who have been posted in the same zone for several years. Their financial interests are involved here in the zone.
