Power corridors are abuzz that Kishore Piraji Kharat, the incumbent ED, Union Bank of India, may shortly be appointed as MD & CEO of IDBI Bank. Kharat was appointed as ED, Union Bank of India in the second week of March this year while serving as GM, Bank of Baroda. Those who know the affairs of Dept of Financial Services and CVC well say that B K Batra (Dy Managing Director, IDBI) too had fair chances but unluckily requisite clearances blunted his prospects. After the retirement of M S Raghawan on June 30 this year IDBI had became headless but reportedly IDBI is all set to get its functional head shortly as P K Kharat.
