The proposed cadre review of Border Security Force (BSF) has sparked hope among IPS officers aspiring for better career prospect in the central Govt as well as among BSF cadres who aspire for better prospects. Currently, BSF has only 26 sanctioned posts in the rank of IG.
'Indianmandarins' has reliably learnt that 26 new posts of IG (Inspector General) may be created in BSF subject to the approval of Union Home Ministry (the cadre controlling authority) and sanction of the Appointments Committee of Cabinet.
The total sanctioned strength of IG may reach 52 in case the proposed 26 new posts are finally sanctioned for BSF. IPS officers and BSF cadres can look forward to better days ahead.
