UP CM Yogi Adityanath has exhorted IAS officers to lead by examples. To do this, they need a big heart and free mind.
Addressing officers during the state IAS week that commenced three days ago, the CM said IAS officers need to clear out the erroneous impression that they worked only for their self-advancement and did not bother about other services, much less for the people.
The CM's observation was fraught in the context on the ongoing turf war between IAS and IPS officers, triggered by CS Rajiv Kumar's instructions to DMs to hold district-level crime meetings and the opposition to it by state IPS officers.
"Officers of other cadres feel the IAS officers formulate rules for themselves and also get their own promotions," said the chief minister in a lighter vein while looking at DGP Sulkhan Singh and asking him, "Is it correct?"
To improve law and order, both IAS and IPS officers need to work as a team, he said.
