Former IB Special Director Expected to be Appointed as Member, CIC

New Delhi (09.12.2025): If some well-placed sources are to be believed, Swagat Das (Retd. IPS: 1987: CG), the former Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), is being considered for the post of Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission (CIC). Swagat Das has a distinguished career, which also includes serving as Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and later as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat.
