The decision-making
process in the Indian Civil Service is always a closely guarded affair which it
often relates with the term ‘iron curtain’. The NaMo administration further
strengthened this concept. But this concept appeared to have suffered a dent when ACC cleared alist of ten MDs & CEOs of public-sector banks on Wednesday. Ironically,
this list got circulated via whatsapp to all and sundry since third week of August. Contrary to the
prevalent perception, that none could have access to a complete list of appointment before
the ACC ratifies it, right from banking sector peons to MDs were already having this
entire list at least five weeks in advance. This raised
eyebrows in power corridors how the entire list came out of the Department of
Financial Services and Finance Ministry long before being cleared by the ACC. The list which got viral is as
follows:- Ms Padamaja Chunduru-Indian Bank Sh. MRITUNJAY MAHAPATRA -Syndicate Bk Sh. Pallav Mohoatra –Central Bank of India Sh. C V Nageshwar –Waiting Sh. J Packirisamy-Andhra Bank Sh. Karnam Sekar-Dena Bank Sh Gopal Murli Bhagat –Waiting Sh. PV Bharthi-Corporation Bank Sh. M KBhattacharya-Waiting Sh. Atul Kumar Goel-Uco Bank Sh. S Hari Shankar- Punjab & Sind Bank Sh. Ashok Kumar Pradhan -United Bank Sh. AS Rajeev-Bk of Maharashtra Sh. SS Mallikarjun -Allahabad Bank Interestingly, several junior executives, across public sector banks PSBs, were also wondering how the entire list reaches in public domain so easily.
