The appointment of Chahte Ram (IRSE:1981) as GM, North Frontier Railway, has left open only one open-line GM post vacant. Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Mahesh Kumar Gupta (IRSE:1981) may be appointed as GM, Eastern Railway - a post which would be filled against the vacancy arisen before March 31, 2016.
Currently, Gupta serves as Chief Administrative Officer, Construction. Reportedly, R N Mishra (IRSME:1980) is also said to be in the race but, in all probability, it is unlikely that he may be given an open-line GM post.
Currently, the additional charge of GM, Eastern Railway, is with A K Goel, a 1979 batch Indian Railway Stores Service officer, who is posted as GM, South Eastern Railway.
