Indianmandarins has learnt that Parliamentary affairs minister M Venkaiah Naidu has warned party MPs that if they do not regularly attend Standing Committee and other Parliamentary panel meetings, they may not get their choice committee next time. At a parliamentary party meeting Tuesday, Naidu told MPs that standing committees were ideal fora where they could push the party's stance on policies and legislation.
To make his message clear, the minister announces certain changes in names of BJP MPs for some of the parliamentary committees. It is reported that that Kirti Azad, Vinod Khanna, Om Birla and Ganesh Singh have been dropped from the estimate committee; S S Ahluwalia and Dushyant Singh from the Pubic Accounts Committee; and those who have been dropped from the Committee on Public Undertaking include Varun Gandhi and Pankaj Chowdhary.
