Union Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha will today (November 24) brief the selected 115 'Prabhari Officers' about the ways & means and the approach to be taken in the field visits.
As reported by Indianmandarins on 21 November, the NaMo administration on 22 November issued a list of 115 Joint Secretary & Additional Secretary rank IAS officers designating them as 'Prabhari officers'. These officers are expected to act as a bridge between the Centre and the selected backward districts ranked on the basis of the status of poverty, health, education, and infrastructure.
These 115 officers will be entrusted individually with 115 backward districts identified by the government and chiefly include Naxal-hit districts across Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
These 'Prabhari officers' may, for all practical purposes, act as the vanguard in establishing New India by 2022 as envisioned by the PM and aid, advise, and act to achieving certain targets by the deadline of 2022.
Officers will be visiting the districts assigned to them to prepare ground reports and coordinate the efforts of the Centre and the states. Their reports will help establish a comprehensive database and effective feedback mechanism.
