Immediately after Prime Minister Modi had assumed offices on May 26 last year, he had interacted with Sinha on the hotline to take stock of the situation in Afghanistan following a Taliban attack in Kabul. Sinha successfully oversaw the transition from the Karzai to Ghani government in Afghanistan.
