Rajiv Bansal (IAS:NL:1988) has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Electronics and Information Technology against a newly-created post. Presently, he is posted as Principal Resident Commissioner of Nagaland in Delhi. The creation of this new post has drawn attention once again to PM's Digital India mission which falls under the Department of Electronics and IT.
Bansal, resident of Haryana and BE in Civil Engineering, brings with him wide and varied experience in the fields of finance, civil aviation, health & family welfare, external affairs and heavy industries. In his first ever stint at centre he had the opportunity to serve in Cabinet Secretariat during 1995-2002.
