pm-set-to-chair-inter-state-council-meeting-at-10-30-am Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to chair the 11th meeting of the Inter-State Council in New Delhi on Saturday to discuss, among other things, the use of Aadhar as an identifier, use of Direct Benefit Transfer for providing subsidies, as well as aspects of internal security. An official statement said on Friday that issues of improving the quality of school education with a focus on improving learning outcomes, incentivising better performance and consideration of recommendations of the Punchhi Commission on Centre-State relations will be discussed. The members of the Council are Chief Ministers of all States, Chief Ministers of Union Territories having a Legislative Assembly, six Union ministers and 11 Union cabinet ministers or minister of state (independent charge) as permanent invitees. The six union ministers, who are part of the Council are Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari and Manohar Parrikar. Union Ministers Suresh Prabhu, D . Sadananda Gowda, Ramvilas Paswan, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Jual Oram, Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Smriti Zubin Irani, Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal and Nirmala Sitharaman are the permanent invitees to the Inter-State Council.
