Sumit Mullick (IAS:1982:MH) is all set to take take over from the outgoing Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Swadheen Kshatriya who is completing his extended tenure of chief secretaryship today (28 Feb). Maharashtra CM devendra Fadanvis cleared the file late last night though two more officers were also in the zone of consideration namely; S K Shrivastava (ACS, Home) and D K Jain (ACS, Finance). Mullick will has more than a year to remain as CS. He will retire in April 2018.
Mullick is currently serving as the chief protocol officer and also handles a unit of General Administration Department. Earlier served as the Divisional commissioner of Amravati and worked as Secretary of School Education.
The outgoing CS Swadheen Kshatriya wasscheduled to retire on January 31 CM decided to clear only a month's extension due to polls and other aspects.
