The US President Donald Trump, on 14 April, announced halting America's funding of the World Health Organisation (WHO) amid ongoing review to assess WHO’s role in "severely mismanaging and covering up" the spread of the deadly COVID-19. Responding to Trump’s decision UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that It was "not the time to reduce the resources for the operations of the World Health Organisation or any other humanitarian organization in the fight against the virus”.
