Himachal DG asks suspension of Shimla SP over unsubstantiated allegations

Shimla (26.05.2025): Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Atul Verma (IAS: 1991: HP) has recommended immediate suspension of Shimla Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Gandhi (IPS: 2012: HP) to the Himachal Pradesh government. This has been done a day after Shimla SP levelled allegations of misconduct against him and his staff.The DGP cited instances of “misconduct and insubordination” by the SP in his letter to Additional Chief Secretary (Home). Similar letters, along with a video of the SP’s media interaction on Saturday in which he made the allegations, were also sent to the Chief Secretary and Private Secretary to the Chief Minister.
