The Delhi High Court has scolded the railway ministry and issued a contempt notice against the appointment of IPS officer S K Bhagat as DG RPF. May it be recalled that the All-India RPF Association has earlier filed a writ petition in the HC against the appointment of any IPS officer as DG RPF overriding their cadre interests; instead of responding to the petition, the railway ministry on April 27 issued the appointment order of Bhagat. Aghast over the development, the Association filed another in the HC and got a stay against Bhagat's appointment.
