Rumors doing the rounds in the capital say that Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary P Rama Mohana Rao, whose house and office in Chennai were raided by the Income-Tax authorities, had got wind of the impending raid. So he accompanied CM Panneerselvam to Delhi for a meeting with PM Naren Modi and tried through a central leader to intervene on his behalf. Incidentally, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai turned up for Panneerselvam's meeting with Modi at his residence. However, Thambidurai could not attend the interaction between the PM and the CM since no prior appointment had been sought on his behalf.
