New Delhi (16.03.2024): The Election Commission of India has announced that 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases beginning from April 19, 2024 and counting and results will take place on June 4, 2024. The other phases of elections will be on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1, 2024. The results will be declared on June 4, 2024. The elections, which will be held in seven phases, are set to be one of the most closely watched political events in recent memory.  The election results on June 4 will determine the composition of the new Lok Sabha and set the stage for the formation of the next government in India.
With an impressive 97 crore eligible voters, including 47.1 crore women and the remainder men, the democratic ethos of the nation is poised to reverberate throughout its expanse. Vote counting is scheduled for June 4 for all bypolls, assembly elections, and the General elections. This election cycle welcomes 1.82 crore new voters into the electorate. It is heartening to note that 88.4 lakh people with disabilities are empowered to cast their votes, ensuring inclusivity and representation for all segments of society. 
There are several voters aged over 100 years. In a significant stride towards inclusivity, 48,000 transgender individuals are poised to exercise their democratic right, marking a pivotal moment in their quest for recognition and equality. To ensure smooth voting procedures, the Election Commission has designated 10.5 lakh booths across the country, ensuring accessibility and convenience for voters. Additionally, the participation of 1.5 crore election officials has been ensured for the smooth functioning of the elections.
