Shipping Minister Mandaaviya inaugurates ‘Direct Port Entry Facility’

1448Union Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the ‘Direct Port Entry (DPE) facility’ of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust by unveiling the e-plaque. While addressing the inauguration ceremony, Mandaviya said that this was a noteworthy step towards reducing logistics cost and increasing the velocity of the cargo. Dr Sanjeev Ranjan (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, said that the IT-enabled infrastructure at the ports would definitely make the ports world-class, aligning the ‘Maritime Vision 2030’ of the Ministry of Shipping. TK Ramachandran, Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust, Arun Kumar Shrivastava, MD, Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) and other senior port officials were present in the virtual inauguration.
