plantation-boards-gowda-bajoria-for-coffee-tea-boards-respectively  Power has its own dynamics. Whosoever comes to power is taken over by its dynamics. Having defied it so far, the NaMo administration finds itself compelled to follow it. Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that taking a leaf out of the Congress book, the NaMo administration may soon appoint loyalists to various boards and corporations in view of elections coming up in 2017-18. Non-executive Chairman posts have been created in Coffee, Tea, Spices and Tobacco Boards and candidates are said to have been identified. M S Boje Gowda, a renowned BJP worker and former MLC, is a large coffee grower and his name has reportedly been proposed for Coffee Board. Gowda is reportedly a joint nominee of former PM Deve Gowda and Ms. Sobha Karangjale, MP. Boje Gowda's brothers are leading owners of coffee estates and active in associations. Likewise, Tea Board is considering some names like Bharat Bajoria, a leading Tea Association industrialist with strong interests in politics who happens to be related to the K K Birla and Bharatiya families. Likewise, for Tobacco Board, a strong BJP leader from Guntur is in the fray. In this context, a question being asked is whether it is correct to appoint people with existing interests in the respective sectors to these Boards? Will a Tea or Coffee Planter best safeguard interests of other planters or should it be any MP or an official? It's argued that appointing people from industry may trigger a potential conflict of interests. industries.
