Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that Ms. Gaitri Kumar (IFS:1986) may soon move from President Secretariat to Brussels (Embassy of India, Belgium, Luxemburg & EU). The post fell vacant after Manjeev Singh Puri (IFS:1982) moved as Indian Ambassador to Nepal in March this year. Currently, Ms. Kumar serves as Social Secretary to President Pranab Mukherjee. The ACC this week cleared the way for V Rajamony (IFS:1986) to take up his new assignment as Indian Ambassador to the Netherlands. After Rajamony, Press Secretary to President, it is the turn of Ms. Kumar to pack her baggage to move from Prez Sectt for Brussels (India's embassy for Belgium and Luxembourg) which also serves as its Mission to the European Union (EU). Prior to her appointment in the Prez Sectt, Ms. Kumar served at MEA HQ as JS Americas division between 2006 and 2010, the crucial years during which the Indo-US nuclear deal was negotiated.
