gujarat-elections-2017-pm-narendra-modi-to-mount-his-gujarat-campaign-from-bhujHaving heard all of them - Rahul Gandhi, Hardik Patel, Alpesh Takor, and Jignesh Mevani for more than a month, Gujarat has been patiently waiting to hear its own old boy and 'Kamau beta' - Narendra Modi. And to set the stage for the PM's heart-to-heart talk with voters, as many as 35 senior state ministers including the CM and Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Uma Bharati and Dharmendra Pradhan as well as senior party leaders Ram Lal, V Sathish and Bhupendra Yadav were among those visited different polling booths across Gujarat on Sunday, November 26. They all shared tea with voters while listening to Modi's message in his 38th radio speech - which, not unexpectedly, was devoid of politics. From the show that the BJP is mounting now, it looks clear that it had deliberately left the field open so far for the opposition to exhaust itself before mounting its own offensive spearheaded by the PM himself. As part of this calculation, the PM's schedule was kept under wraps. Unlike in the past, when Modi's events were advertised in advance, the dates for his campaigns were postponed at least twice in November to turn the opposition smug and complacent. Meantime, Amit Shah held the fort. Today, on November 27, barely a fortnight away from the election, Modi will inaugurate his campaign by addressing four public meetings starting from Bhuj in Kutch. He will address another four meetings on Wednesday, November 29. He has not spoken a word so far on various issues raised by a relatively young and opportunistic brigade of the opposition.
