The NaMo administration on Monday announced the appointment of 17 officers to the post of Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments:
- Navneet Mohan Kothari (lAS:2001:MP) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for an overall tenure of five years upto 18.04.2021. Kothari replaces Ashutosh Jindal (IAS:1995:TR).
- Rohit Yadav (IAS:2002:CG) appointed as Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office on lateral shift basis for a period ending 31.07.2023. Presently he is working as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel.
- Baldeo Purushartha (lAS:2002:PB) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for a tenure of five years. He replaces K V Pratap (IES:1992). Presently, he is Divisional Commissioner, Jalandhar, Govt of Punjab.
- Ms Neerja Sekhar (lAS:1993:HY) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for a tenure of five years. She replaces Ashok Kumar Parmar (IAS:1992:JK).
- N B S Rajput (lAS:1999:OR) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances for a tenure of five years. He replaces V Shashank Shekhar (lAS:1996:NL).
- K V Pratap (IES:1992), Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, laterally shifted to Ministry of Home Affairs for an overall tenure of five years upto 23.11.2022. Pratap replaces Amitabh Kharkwal (IPoS:1989).
- Ms. Sushma Taishete (CSS) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, (Mumbai) for an overall tenure of five years upto 05.07.2023 by downgrading a vacant post of AS in the Department. She replaces Mervin Alexander S (lPoS(1987) who prematurely repatriated to parent cadre. Presently, she is working as Joint Secretary, Department of Justice.
- Deepak Kapoor (IA&AS:1998) appointed as Additional CEO, GeM SPV, (JS level) under the Department of Commerce for a tenure of five years. He replaces S Suresh Kumar (lAS:2000:AP).
- Surendra K Ahirwar (IRTS:1997) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce for an overall tenure of five years upto 08.01.2023. The post has been temporarily upgraded from Director to Joint Secretary level for a period of two years (initially).
- Ms Aditi Das Rout (ITS:1986) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure upto her superannuation on 30.11.2023. She replaces S C Barmma (IPoS:1987).
- Satish Singh (IRSME:1996) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence, for an overall tenure of five years upto 12.10.2022. He replaces Ashok Kumar Singh (lAS:1999:KL).
- Ms Mukta Shekhar (IRAS:1994) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution for a tenure of five years vice Kamal Datta (IFoS:1994:UT)
- Atul Saxena (IRSS:1991) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries for an overall tenure of five years upto 30.06.2021 by temporary upgrading the Director level post.
- Purushottam Tiwary (IA&AS:1996) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry for a tenure of five years. He replaces Pravin Laxminarayan Agrawal (IFS:1994:TR).
- Niraj Kumar Gayagi (IDAS:1997) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Justice for a tenure of five years. He replaces Ms Sushma Taishete (CSS).
- Charanpreet Singh Bakshi (IRS C&CE:1992) appointed as Joint Secretary Ministry of Minority Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Jan-e-Alam (lAS:1991:NL).
- Sanjay Kumar Jain (IRTS:1990) appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises for a tenure of five years vice Madhukar Gupta (lAS:1985:RJ) consequent on completion of his tenure.
- Tanweer Qamar Mohammad (IPoS:1994) appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation for a tenure of five years vice Arun Kumar Yadav (lAS:1987:SK).
