Reportedly, former I&B Secretary Sunil Arora (Retd IAS:1980:RJ) has been appointed Election Commissioner. Prior to I&B he served as Secretary, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. A post of EC fell vacant following the completion of tenure of Nasim Zaidi as Chief Election Commissioner on July 05, 2017.
It may be underlined that Arora would be the next Chief Election Commissioner during 2019 Lok sabha elections.
