• THIRUVANANTHAPURAM (09.06.2026): The Kerala government-led by Chief Minister V D Satheesan has effected a major reshuffle of IAS officers. One ex-cadre post of Commissioner, Land Revenue and another of Principal Director, Local Self Government Department have been created for better governance. The names and news assignment of these officers are as follows:
    1. Bishwanath Sinha (IAS: 1992: KL), Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Vigilance Department, will also hold additional charges of the Coir Development Department and Housing Department, in addition to his existing additional charge of the Water Resources Department. The officer stands relieved of the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Coastal Shipping and Inland Navigation Department. 
    2. K R Jyothilal (IAS: 1993: KL), Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, will also hold the additional charge of the Planning and Economic Affairs Department and Member Secretary, Kerala State Planning Board. He will continue to hold the additional charges of the Taxes Department, Rebuild Kerala Initiative and Public Procurement Advisory Department. 
    3. Puneet Kumar (IAS: 1993: KL), Resident Commissioner, Kerala House, New Delhi, will be relieved of all other charges. 
    4. Dr Rajan N Khobragade (IAS: 1993: KL), Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, stands relieved of the charges of Additional Chief Secretary, Cultural Affairs (Archaeology, Archives and Museums) Department, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, and Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Official Language) Department. The officer will continue to hold the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, AYUSH Department. 
    5. Minhaj Alam (IAS: 1966: KL), Chairman and Managing Director, Kerala State Electricity Board Ltd, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Department and Agriculture Production Commissioner. The officer will also hold the additional charges of Additional Chief Secretary, Sports, Youth Affairs, Zoos, Museum, Archaeology and Archives Departments. The officer is relieved of the charges of the Forests and Wildlife Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Dairy Development Department and Museum (Zoo) Department. 
    6. Dr Raju Narayanaswamy (IAS: 1991: KL), Principal Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Sainik Welfare Department. 
    7. Dr Sharmila Mary Joseph IAS (KL 1997), Principal Secretary, Woman and Child Development Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department. The officer will also hold the additional charges of Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. The officer stands relieved of all other charges. 
    8. Tinku Biswal (IAS: 1997: KL), Principal Secretary, Local Self Government Department, stands relieved of the charge of the Agriculture Department. The officer will continue to hold additional charge of Director General, Institute of Management in Government. 
    9. Dr B Ashok (IAS: 1998: KL) has been posted as Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department. 
    10. Dr Rathan U Kelkar (IAS: 2003: KL), Secretary to Chief Minister, will also hold additional charges of Secretary, Coastal Shipping and Inland Navigation Department, Information and Public Relations Department and Department for the Welfare of the Elderly, in addition to his existing additional charge. 
    11. Biju K (IAS: 2006: KL), Secretary, Public Works Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Forests and Wildlife Department. The officer will hold additional charges of Skill Development Department and Cashew Department, in addition to his existing additional charges of the General Administration Department and Tourism Department. 
    12. N Prashanth (IAS: 2007: KL) has been posted as Special Secretary, Sports Department. The officer will hold additional charge of Special Secretary, Youth Affairs, Zoos, Museum, Archaeology and Archives Departments. 
    13. The service of M G Rajamanickam (IAS: 2008: KL), Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, has been placed at the disposal of Power Department for being appointed as Chairman & Managing Director, Kerala State Electricity Board Limited. The post of Chairman & Managing Director, Kerala State Electricity Board Limited has been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Secretary to the Government The officer will  hold the additional charges of Secretary, Power, Environment and Parliamentary Affairs Departments. The officer stands relieved of the charges of Secretary, Revenue Department, Disaster Management Department, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. The officer will continue to hold his charges in the Devaswom Department. 
    14. T V Anupama (IAS: 2010: KL), Secretary, Local Self Government Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Transport Department. The officer will hold the full additional charge of Airports; Metro Rail; Personnel and Administrative Reforms and Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Official Language) Departments in addition to her existing additional charges of Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Development and Backward Classes Development Department. The officer stands relieved from the charge of Secretary, Local Self Government Department. 
    15. Jeevan Babu K (IAS: 2011: KL), Commissioner, Land Revenue, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department. The officer stands relieved of all his other charges. 
    16. Suhas S (IAS: 2012: KL), Managing Director, Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala and Special Officer for Wayanad Township, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Water Resources Department. He will continue to hold his other additional charge. 
    17. Seeram Sambasiva Rao (IAS: 2012: KL), Excise Commissioner, stands relieved of the charges of Special Secretary, Environment Department and Director, Survey and Land Records Department. The officer will continue to hold additional charge of the Electronics and Information Technology Department. 
    18. Dr Adeela Abdulla (IAS: 2012: KL), Special Secretary, Social Justice Department, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Public Works Department. 
    19. Shanavas S (IAS: 2012: KL), Special Secretary, Labour and Skills Department, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Local Self Government Department. The officer will also hold the additional charges of Managing Director, Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala Ltd, and Special Officer, Capital Region Development Project (CRDP). The officer will also hold additional charge of Special Secretary, Minority Welfare Department. The officer stand relieved of the charge of State Mission Director, National AYUSH Mission.
    22. Gopalakrishnan K (IAS: 2013: KL), Managing Director, Vyttila Mobility Hub Society, has been transferred and posted as Director, Environment and Climate change.   • NEW DELHI (01.06.2026): The Supreme Court of India has appointed five new judges, recommended by the SC Collegium. The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, posted the announcement on X, stating that the appointment has now brought the Supreme Court closer to its newly expanded sanctioned strength of 38 judges.

    President of India Droupadi Murmu has given her ascent to these names. The names of the new judges are as follows:

    1. Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice, High Court of Punjab and Haryana
    2. Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, Chief Justice, High Court of Bombay
    3. Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Chief Justice, High Court of Madhya Pradesh
