UKS Chauhan (IAS:1986:Kerala), currently posted as Jt Secretary in Dept of Consumer Affairs, will be conferred “Revant Muktibodh Sahitya Samaan.” The award will be given by Prof Namvar Singh for Chauhan’s extraordinary contribution to the preservation and growth of Hindi literature, language, and its holistic traditions. The award is instituted by Lucknow-based Hindi literary magazine Rewant.
The award will be formally conferred at a function to be organized on February 27 at Sahitya Academy auditorium located in Ravindra Bhawan. It will be attended by an array of leading lights of Indian literature and culture. Chauhan has invited all his friends and critics to come and attend the function.
Despite not keeping good health, Chauhan has been tirelessly promoting the cause of not only Hindi literature but all great literary traditions of India. Indeed he has been so devoted to his passion that he recently declined to get posted in MHA as he thought that the job, apart from taxing his ailing physical economy, will take away precious time he has been devoting in the service of Indian literature and culture.
