Surana will succeed Ms Vasudeva as CMD, HPCL on April 01, 2016

The incumbent CEO of Prize Petroleum Company Limited (PPCL) M K Surana has been appointed as next CMD of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation. Surana will replace Ms Nishi Vasudewa (CMD, HPCL) on April 01, 2016. Ms Vasudeva will demit office on March 31 on attaining the supeannuation age. Surana (a Mechanical Engineer) is a refineries man. Previously he served as GM, Projects for Vishakhapattanam Refinery of HPCL.

Public enterprises Selection Board had selected M K Surana for the post (CMD, HPCL) on October 15 last year. So far as 12 candidates were interviewed including P K Joshi (Director, HPCL), Khaleel Rahim (Chairman, STCL) and four EDs of HPCL namely; S P Gupta, G S Ganesh, S Jeyakumar and Ajit Singh.

The ACC finally ratifies the recommendation and appoints him for the job.

Surana will lead HPCL for five years.
