The incumbent Goa Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar Srivastava (IAS:1984:UT) has been granted his second extension for three months.
The Department of Personnel & Training conveyed to the Govt of Goa about the central government’s approval to grant extension to Srivastava, effective from October 1. Srivastava was slated to superannuate on June 30 but he got three months extension in service ending 30 September 2016. The latest development enables him to serve as Goa CS till 31st December 2016.
Goa CM reportedly wanted Srivastava’s services in view of the upcoming BRICS summit but some top sources believed that Sanjiv Nandan Sahai wanted to serve at Centre as Additional Secretary which prompted Goa Govt to let Srivastava continue as CS till Dec 2016.
