The latest grapevine has it that Indian Ambassador to US Dr Subramanyam Jaishankar (IFS:1977) may be taken on board with the PMO somewhere in April 2015 after budget session of the parliament.
After completing his term as Indian Indian Ambassador to China Dr S Jaishankar was assigned with the top job as Indian Ambassador to US in December 2013. During his China assignment he had been the foremost contender for the coveted post of External Affairs Secretary.
Moved by his proactive role in nourishing the Indo-US relations and fascilitating his successful US-visit Narendra Modi, reportedly, wants his services as adviser on foreing policy affairs. While serving as Joint Secretary (Americas) Dr Jaishankar is said to have played important role in ensuring the civil nuclear deal as successful one.
