It may sound awkward but it’s true. A Joint Secretary is currently facing a troublesome situation in view of the shortage of office space. After the appointment of a Special Secretary as OSD as successor to the outgoing secretary, the ministry faced the shortage of space to accommodate the officer. As a solution, the joint secretary was moved to another room on a sharing basis. Which means that the joint secretary concerned these days is sharing the office-room with another joint secretary. Though the JS concerned will be back to his own room after the OSD takes over from the outgoing secretary on December 31, this sort of situation of sharing of a room by two joint secretaries is rare.
