Former IAS officer, S Sasikanth Senthil (2009 batch), who quit the civil services last year, is expected to join the Congress Party on Monday (9 November). Senthil, who led the CAA-NRC protests from the front, claims to have set aside trivial social-politics issues and minor differences to fight for the larger cause of protecting democracy and fight the majoritarian spirit that was already dividing people. Senthil resigned from service when he was Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada. To be put in his words, he is tying up with the Congress as he claims to understand the challenges of the 21st century and stands for the founding ideologies of the Constitution of India. Senthil will campaign for the Congress during the upcoming Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu.
