New Delhi (20.01.2021): As the process to shortlist successors to CBI Director Rishi Kumar Shukla gets going, the visit of a senior IPS officer to meet a minister in North Bloc has set the tongues wagging. Even though such visits by senior IPS officers to North Bloc are routine, the timing of the visit has come to be interpreted in various ways. As reported by Indianmandarins, Shukla is likely to be superannuated at the end of his term unless there is a last-minute change of mind at the political level to grant the officer an extension.
