In a sudden move the Govt of India appoints M J Joseph (ICAS:1979) as new Controller General of Accounts in the Union Ministry of Finance. Currently he is Director General of BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) as. In his new stint Joseph has replaces Jawahar Thakur (ICAS:1978) who has further been appointed as OSD (Accounting Reforms) in the Office of CGA.
He has served Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs; Jt Secretary and Financial Advisor in the President Secretariat and also as Director, Ministry of Defence among others. In addition he had served with the International Monitory Fund (IMF) as a Public Financial Management Adviser at the IMF’s Regional Technical Assistance centre in Tanzania.
