Indianmandarins has learnt that the premature-repatriation of Karan Bir Singh Sidhu (IAS:1984:PB), who served as MD, TRIFED at Centre, is part of the latest game-plan of Punjab Deputy CM. Punjab Govt is expecting Sarvesh Kaushal’s empanelment as Secretary (Govt of India) in the next review empanelment which would further pave way for Sidhu to be appointed as new CS.
Initially Punjab Government was evaluating the pros and cons of appointing Suresh Kumar (IAS:1983:PB) as state chief secretary in place of Sarvesh Kaushal (PB:IAS:1983), but it was found not feasible. The outgoing ACS (development) Suresh Kumar’s superannuation is at hand (April 30, 2016). Being senior to Kumar, Sarvesh kaushal could not report to him if he was made CS. Second, the state politics is on the verge of assembly polls and require consistency and stability in administration. Third, Suresh Kumar recently earned the annoyance of Dy CM over some issue.
Again Sarvesh Kaushal’s peculiar situation has stopped the govt to act on its next move. The Govt will reportedly wait for Kaushal’s empanelment as Secretary at centre.
